In September 1954, meeting in the home
of Pastor Robert C. Morgan, Faith Baptist Church was
formed with 8 charter members. On July 31, 1955, the first
baptisms were conducted at Lake Massapoag in Sharon.
Seventeen people were baptized. In October 1955, Faith
Baptist Church of Stoughton was incorporated.

On May 15, 1960, ground was broken for
a church building on land donated by the Draper Company.
The basement was completed in March, 1961 and served as
both classrooms and sanctuary for the rest of the decade.
Reverend Roger Bradley succeeded Pastor Morgan in 1962. In
1963, Reverend Frank G. Snook was installed as our third
pastor. In June 1969, the members voted to expand the
facilities and build the top to our basement.

On Sunday, October 11th, 1970 the new
church was dedicated. In September 1977, Pastor Frank G.
Snook resigned and Reverend John R. Baillie was installed
as pastor. In the fall of 1978, the parsonage was
constructed and dedicated in January 1979.

On November 27, 1983, ground was broken
for a new sanctuary. On June 17, 1984, dedication of the
new sanctuary was celebrated.

In April of 1995 Pastor Baillie
retired, and in October 1995, Pastor Stanley W. Schultz,
Jr. was installed. In 1998, Faith Baptist Church members
celebrated their major goal of "Burning the Mortgage."

In the fall of 2004 Faith Baptist
Church celebrated its golden anniversary, and today
continues to move “Forward in Faith.”
